Written by Eduardo Madeira, this contemporary comedy follows the adventures of an American television crew making a documentary about the fashionable tourist destination: Portugal.
Everyone knows about the country of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luís Vaz de Camões and Sara Sampaio, but also about its beaches, gastronomy, Port wine, Fado and custard tarts. But how do the Portuguese really live? What are these people who don't appear on postcards or in tourist programmes? And how do they behave on a daily basis? To find out, they chose a typical Portuguese neighbourhood to illustrate the documentary: Bairro do Humor.
The team is confronted with a patchwork of the lives of a people who are sometimes sentimental, sometimes grumpy. A people who are happy and sad at the same time. A bipolar people, passionate and disconcerting. The documentary by the American television team ends up being a sequence of pictures that portray caricature situations and many moments when you just have to laugh! A portrait of everyday life in a Portuguese neighbourhood.
